Procrastination is the thief of time.” Well, as much as we loved that jolly old fellow, had we taken his advice and found a photographer well in advance we would have missed the serendipitous crossing of paths which led us to Manny Favas’ door. There are photographers, like Bresson and Doisneau, whose oversized collections sadly collect dust in so many libraries... and painters like Raphael and Caravaggio, whose names fall like half-sucked candies from the lips of pretentious slack-jawed yokels, jawing over emptied glasses of wine in too many art gallery bistros - When truly, all it was ever about was light, and the process of capturing those special luminescent moments of life that beg to be shared and studied well after the sun has set, and the crowds have gone. In this, Manny was our guide. More friend than photographer, he was our wet nurse and benevolent uncle. For every piece of cake that we merrily encouraged him to nibble, he responded in kind, leading us to the land of Ellada where he, Silvana, and Jimmy stuffed us silly with all manner of Orektika until we fell soundly asleep, yet still blissfully aware that the light had been captured, the albums had been rolled on the thighs of Italian printers, and fresh memories from Favas’ hand were soon to be enjoyed by all. God bless you Manny. Thanks for everything. Our love to Silvana.

Papillon Studios comments on Rachel & Bernie

Manny, Bernie and I searched the city over to find the perfect photographer for our wedding day.
